ACC Academic Leaders Network
The ACC Academic Leaders Network brings together faculty leaders from across ACC universities to strengthen leadership capacity, foster innovation, and build connections that extend beyond individual campuses. Recognizing that today’s universities thrive through collaboration, diversity of ideas, and shared initiatives, ALN provides distinctive learning and networking opportunities that enhance what each institution can achieve on its own.
The ACC Academic Leaders Network connects emerging and established academic leaders from across ACC universities to spark collaboration, share best practices, and strengthen leadership capacity across the consortium. Together, participants explore new ideas and partnerships that drive innovation across higher education.

We invite nominations from deans and associate deans.
Each year, five leaders from across Virginia Tech will be selected to participate in the ACC Academic Leaders Network (ALN) program. This program is designed for academic leaders serving in roles such as department head, chair, or school director; assistant or associate dean; and assistant or associate (vice) provost.
Participants should have at least 1–2 years of experience in their current leadership role and must be able to attend all three on‑site sessions.
We seek leaders who currently hold academic leadership positions or who aspire to move into higher‑level roles. Priority will be given to ensure equitable representation of department heads as well as college- and university‑level leaders, and participation will rotate among colleges from year to year.
Nominations may be submitted to Kim Allen at kiallen@vt.edu.
