Tips for Nominators (Academies of Faculty Service and Leadership)

Based on feedback from several years of conversation with nomination review committees, we've put together some tips for a successful package, for nominators to consider as they put together nomination materials.

  • The nominator statement should be written with the same care and thoroughness as a letter of endorsement—fully communicating how the criteria for selection are met by the individual being nominated
  • Nominators and those providing letters of endorsement should provide detailed examples of how each criterion has been met by the nominee
  • Specific attention should be given to providing explicit information as to the impact of the nominee's contributions in the university community
    • Give thought to the scope of impact (who, where?)
    • Give thought to the importance of the contribution to the university community (why?)
