Fulbright U.S. Scholar Awards

Each year, the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400 awards in more than 135 countries for U.S. academics, administrators and professionals to teach, research and conduct professional projects around the world.

Applications are now open for the 2027-28 academic year with a deadline of Tuesday, September 15 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Check out the resources below for more information.

Upcoming Information Session

Join our Online Fulbright Information Session for Virginia Tech faculty on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 2:00–3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Please register using this link to receive the Zoom access details. The session will feature a representative from the Institute of International Education, who will provide an overview of available awards, the application and selection process, and answer questions. A member of the Provost’s Office will also discuss fellowship leave at Virginia Tech.
