New Faculty Welcome

Registration for this event will open in June 2025. Please check this website occasionally for updates, registration information, and the developing agenda. The full New Faculty Welcome agenda will be available in June, but attendees can anticipate a schedule similar to last year’s.

The New Faculty Welcome program is an annual event offered by the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, with contributions from other university units that support Virginia Tech faculty.

This event, which is separate and different from the orientation sessions provided by the Human Resources department, is designed to provide overview information about the university, hear from other faculty, and network with new faculty and leadership. This year's event will be held on August 21-22, 2025. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.

The program provides breakout informational sessions for Administrative and Professional Faculty and Teaching and Research Faculty. This targeted program content is designed to address the specific needs and interests of the different faculty groups.

All new faculty members hired between August 10, 2024 through August 10, 2025 are invited and strongly encouraged to attend this important program. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
